yea, so joel and i went to long beach for a wedding this weekend. his great big bro is now married, congrats! but yes, i must explain where this place was because it was so…unique…in terms of where it was and what it contained…
it’s in downtown long beach and it’s called ‘the breakers’ and when you drive up to the building, all you can see on the overhang is “retirement home,” which really threw us off because we’re going for a wedding, not a funeral…so yes, wedding is at a retirement home…but get this, the reception was on the top floor and it’s called “the sky room.” and this upstairs reception is probably one of the swankiest places i’ve ever seen. the ambience was great, the look of the whole place was snazzy, and they had a live jazz band with a talented singer. and let’s not forget the 20 or so fraternity guys there at the reception…what was great is all the frat guys were the reason joel originally joined, and i can understand why he loves them so much…they are all really down to earth and a little geeky like joel. fun times…
but yes, i drank too much and all i could do sunday was stare at my computer screen concentrating really hard on not moving…but yes, fun times at the retirement home!
